Today, I want to talk about something that's been weighing heavy on my heart—the freedom to love, the freedom to serve, and the freedom to see the face of God in every single soul we meet.
In Matthew 22:39, the Good Book reminds us to "love thy neighbor as thyself." But who is our neighbor? It's not just the folks down the street or those who look and sound like us. Our neighbor is the weary traveler, lost in a strange land, with empty pockets and a heart full of fear. They may speak a different language or wear different clothes, but they share the same sky, breathe the same air, and carry the same divine spark within them.
There are those who want to judge, to draw lines based on where someone comes from. But that isn't the gospel I preach. God doesn't ask for a passport before He showers His grace upon us! God sees the heart, the struggle, and the potential for good in every single one of us.
As followers of Christ, we must tear down the walls of prejudice and the barriers of fear. We need the freedom to open our houses of worship, our hearts, and our communities to all those in need. Let our faith be a beacon, a light that shines bright regardless of background or circumstance. When we extend a hand in love, when we offer a word of kindness, we aren’t just helping someone else—we're reflecting the glory of God on this Earth.
Let us commit to loving our neighbors in every form they take, and in doing so, let us bring God's love into a world that so desperately needs it. Together, we can be the change, the light, and the love that this world is crying out for.
